Stylized flowers known as guls decorated early textiles in Central Asian. Gul-i-peron consist of a string of beads attached to a felt disc to create a medallion of design. Tribal emblems known as gols are also used extensively in textile design in Central Asia. Both design techniques are being incorporated into Lola Guhl  patterns.
